The next day we decided to walk around the town. Three of us wanted to do the "Sound of Music" Tour but it was 4 hours long and we were going to be on a bus the majority of it. We decided against that. So we just walked and it was quite chilly but no rain.
Devin took a picture of Mozart's house where he was born.
The streets were busy but the signs were so pretty.
Devin thought the McDonald's sign was pretty cool. It is quite different than the huge golden arches that we are familiar with.
A picture of Hohensalzburg Fortress - the city's landmark built in 1077.
We decided to take a 25 minute horse carriage ride thru the old town area. It was fun and something different. It was pretty funny how our horse would rest his head on the other. I think he also had some attitude.
Lucas enjoyed being up front with the driver except when the horses had to relieve themselves.
The stores were really decorated so pretty.
A statue of Mozart.
There are many museums and musical events in Salzburg. We happened to come across a "Big Band" playing in one of the streets.

Hi Christa, Someone called Polk today and asked for you. They were from the Die-Cut company and were wanting to ask some questions. It made me realize with everything going on in my life the last few months that I haven't read your blog in awhile. So I just got caught up. I was excited to read about your trip to Germany and Austria, as well as your older trip to Zermatt. My husband being from Austria, I've been to the places you visited (including St. Moritz). It was great seeing the pictures. The kids are getting so big, and Kate is just beautiful! My daughter, who is 23, got married on May 2nd. The 3 months or so before the wedding was very busy, but all went well. We hope to visit Austria and the family next summer and are keeping our fingers crossed. I'm glad you all are well. Ellen is doing better. I'm sure you've "talked" with her and Sharon. Susan Eastman
Hi Christa, It was so good to receive your post on my e-mail. I went on you blog and caught up with things, and I am sorry that I have not kept in touch. The kids are so grown, and Kate is as beautiful as ever. Give all three of them our love. I am so glad that you got to spend time with your mom on your last visit. We wish you our condolences. Please let us know of your next visit to U.S. so if you have time in your busy schedule, we can get together. Give our regards to Jason, and we miss you guys.
